Impregnated standard decking
SCA's impregnated products are intended for use in exposed structures above ground.
SCA's impregnated products are designed for use in exposed structures above ground. For example, they are ideal for building fences, decking boards, and playground equipment, as the impregnation protects the wood from moisture and rot.
Our impregnated products require minimal maintenance and can, depending on customer preferences and needs, be untreated, soap-washed, oiled, or painted.
SCA's impregnated products are NTR-certified, ensuring a technical lifespan of at least 25–30 years, and in some cases even longer, depending on usage, construction, and maintenance. The products come with a 20-year rot protection warranty.
Impregnated wood is now evaluated and approved for use in various environmental certification systems, such as the Nordic Swan Ecolabel for outdoor furniture, parks, and playground equipment.
The wood preservatives used in pressure impregnation are effective against rot fungi and insects but may pose a risk to aquatic organisms. Therefore, many wood preservatives are restricted from use in direct and permanent contact with water.
The impregnation process takes place in a closed system without risk of leakage into the environment. Excess impregnation liquid is recycled and reused. The EU waste hierarchy stipulates that functional building products should primarily be reused, which is fully possible for wood products. Materials that are not reused will, according to IHT NS 9431, fall under the waste categories "Clean Wood" and "Treated Wood" and be managed through "Incineration and Energy Recovery," with waste codes 1141/1142.
